The NC Bass Challenge opened with a bang on the Chowan River this past Saturday as 141 teams competed in our 1st event of 2025. The Chowan didn’t disappoint us as many great bags of fish were brought to the scales.
After all teams weighed in Saturday afternoon, it was the father and son duo Kevin and Tyler Jones who took 1st place honors. They brought 23.30 pounds of bass to the scales and won our $5,200 Neuse Sport Shop 1st place prize! After the tournament, Kevin talked about their day on the water:
“We made a run up the river and fished in a couple of creeks. Our morning was slow, we only generated a few keeper bites before 11. Around 11 the bite seemed to pick up a little for us. We didn’t catch a lot of fish but we were lucky to get some quality bites.”
Kevin and Tyler were awarded our Neuse Sports Shop 1st Place prize of $5,200 and 2 custom trophies. The Bass Challenge guarantees a minimum of $3,000 to 1st place at every tournament this year thanks to Neuse Sports Shop!
Our next event will be April 5 on Kerr Lake in Henderson, NC.
The Bass Challenge paid cash prizes to our top 23 teams in this event. It took 13.89 pounds to finish inside the Bass Challenge money line. We also paid a $400 cash prize to our Greenville Toyota Big Bass Winner.
